Patronize your nearby Spring Training facility…Especially if they’re award-winners! Six years ago, Salt River Fields was but a plan on an architect’s drawing board. Today, it’s a metro Phoenix mainstay, a glorious complex of LEEDs-certified stadium, practice fields, beautiful offices and groundskeepers that could do a lecture tour on keeping grass green in the desert. Perhaps the crown jewel of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, it is Spring Training home to two MLB teams and thus the slogan: Two Tribes, Two Teams, One Home. In 2009, Dave Dunne came on to lead the facility through its many phases of construction straight through to opening day for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies in 2011. Today, as 2nd home to both MLB teams, Spring Training reigns supreme; but it’s also host to many major community events such as Streets Eats Food Truck Festival, the July 3 Independence Day Music Festival and even the Arizona Taco Festival and Octoberfest.
